Senior Officers Visit SORBET ROYAL 2002

Senior Naval Officers from around the world gathered at Frederikshavn Naval Base in advance of the Sorbet Royal 2002 Distinguished Visitors day. Rear Admiral Niall Kilgour UKN, COMSUBEASTLANT and the Officer Conducting the Exercise (OCE) hosted a dinner for the visitors and welcomed them to this the largest ever Submarine Escape and Rescue exercise ever conducted.

The senior visitor was Vice Admiral John Grossenbacher USN, COMSUBACLANT who has travelled from Norfolk, Virginia to be at the Exercise. Amongst the others attending were Rear Admiral Tim Sloth Joergensen DEN (ADMIRALDANFLEET and national host for the Exercise), Rear Admiral Jan Reksten NON (COMNAVSONOR) and Rear Admiral Parlakogu TUN (Submarine Fleet Commander, Turkish Navy).
