Frederikshavn Military Naval Base, Denmark was buzzing with activity with all the various vessels taking part in Exercise Sorbet Royal 2002 make preparations for the forthcoming exercise taking place between 21st- 23rd May 2002 in the waters of Katttegat outside Fredrikshavn.
Many vessels carried out serviceability checks on their equipment, including immersion checks in the harbour of the Atmospheric Diving suit on board the French participating ship, M/V Ailette and the LR-5 and Scorpio from the United Kingdom participant vessel, Geofjord.

The dockyard saw some new sites today with the arrival of ex Swedish submarine HDMS Kronborg and various equipment systems such as the Rumic Universal Deck Reception Chamber and the Type 7 One Man Compression Chamber used in conjunction with the LR-5 and the RN type B Decompression Chamber.

Many vessels where open for viewing in the dockyard and many people visited the various units including the opportunity for people to view at first hand the interior workings of the Danish Submarine HDMS Springeren.
