GEOFJORD EXERCISES IN THE KATTEGAT WITH LR-5.
As a part of the final exercise day of Sorbet Royal 2002, LR-5 and the UKSubmarine Rescue Revice deployed onboard Geofjord operated in exercise areas of the Kattegat, Denmark. The LR-5 embarked on a MEDEX dive to the Swedish Submarine HSwMS Vastergotland which lay over 40 metres deep on the sea bed. The medical team extracted the casualty and returned to the surface. During the time the LR-5 was submersed the UK crew carried on the daily routine of trials and checks. On completion of the Exercise both units returned to harbour and the LR-5 was disembarked.
